Paukan is the ancient name of Bagan, the ancient city of 2,000 temples on the banks of the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) River.
The R.V. Paukan 2007 is beautifully furnished with a unique combination of modern and traditional motifs. The 29 cabins (a mixture of superior and deluxe twins or doubles, as well as 2 suites) are furnished in colonial style, with the addition of Burmese-style traditional ceilings (pictured below - a deluxe double). The capacity of the R.V. Paukan is 55 passengers, who will be looked after by a 30-member crew.
Meals in the dining room (main deck) will include both oriental and international cuisine. Vegetarian meals can be prepared with advance notice. The price is inclusive of all meals, sightseeing tours and entrance fees at monuments.
The sun deck has a stage for cultural performances, and a bar and lounge (below) for relaxation. The upper deck has a lecture/movie room with LCD projector and LCD TV screen.
There are two massage rooms on the lower deck offering traditional Burmese massage designed to give soothing relaxation.
