Cairo, Egypt’s bustling atmospheric capital, the largest city on the African continent, is our recommended gateway. Many visitors choose to fly straight to Luxor in Upper Egypt, but we feel there is so much to see in and around Cairo – the Pyramids and Sphinx, the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, the dramatic skyline of the medieval city of Saladin, and the archaeological treasures of ancient Memphis and Saqqara – that a few days in the capital is the perfect introduction to this timeless land.
Cruising on the Nile between Luxor and Aswan is the most relaxing and enjoyable way of visiting the great temples and tombs of the south. Due to the cruising schedules, our sample tours have fixed departure dates, although we are happy to offer you more flexible arrangements before or after the cruise itself.
