The Rihana Dahabiya
The experience of sailing on the Nile in a traditional Dahabiya like the Rihana is very different from that on a larger cruise ship. The atmosphere is more relaxed and intimate, and the maximum number of passengers is just 16. One of the great advantages is that the Rihana can sail among the smaller islands on the Nile and also find mooring sites away from the crowds and noise.
There are just 8 deluxe cabins on the Rihana (six cabins with twin beds - pictured below - and two cabins with a large double bed). Each has the following features:
• In-cabin electronic personal safe
• Panoramic sound-proof windows
• Individual controlled air-conditioning
• Telephone with voicemail
• In-cabin coffee and tea facilities
• Full mini bar
• Individual interactive TV
• Satellite channels (when docked only)
• Hairdryer, bathrobe
• Ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower
The Rihana is 50 metres in length and has two masts. There are dining facilities, a bar and a reading lounge, as well as a small gymnasium with massage facilities. There is also a boutique/gift shop and wireless internet access. A doctor is on call 24 hours.
Generators are available for electricity, and will also be used to power the boat if there is not enough wind for sailing.
