Luxor Museum
Located at the northern end of the Corniche at Luxor, this small museum contains a superb collection of statues and funerary goods from the Theban Necropolis and the various temples in the local area. The museum is well laid out and the exhibits are labelled in English, so it is easy to make a visit on your own during your free time in the city. Amongst the top attractions of the museum are the two royal mummies of Ahmosis I and, possibly, Ramses I (the identification is disputed).
Open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. (in the summer the afternoon opening is 5.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.)
