India Holidays - The pool at Marari Beach

Mararikulam is an authentic Indian fishing village on the shores of the Arabian Sea an hour's drive south of the Keralan capital Cochin.  Its top hotel is the Marari Beach Resort, run by the eco-conscious CGH Earth group.  The resort is in an idyllic setting in the midst of 36 acres of mango and coconut palms with direct access to the beach.  There are 62 thatched villas with air-conditioning, minibar, tea nd coffee-making facilities, in-room safe, and partially open-ro-air ensuite bathrooms.  In keeping with CGH Earth's group philosophy there are no televisions in the rooms.  Upgrades are available for a supplement to Garden Pool Villas and Deluxe Pool Villas, which have their own private plunge pool (below).

There is a beach restaurant serving Indian and western dishes, especially seafood, in an open-sided setting.  The resort has a bar, a large outdoor swimming pool and Ayurveda Spa.  There are facilities for yoga and tennis.
