Atua Enkop's Elephant Bedroom Camp is set on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in Samburu National
Reserve, surrounded by doum palms and other beautiful indigenous trees
and shrubs. This small and exclusive camp has just 12 luxury tents (10 twins, 2 doubles) - all
furnished in rustic African style while offering all the comforts
expected of a luxury Camp (hot and cold running water all day, electricity*
and herbal products).
* Electricity is available in the tents from 0500-0630, ahead of your morning game drive, and again from 1830-2300. There are eco-friendly wind-up torches for each guest in the tents. Electricity for charging your mobile, camera batteries etc is available 24 hours a day at the main lounge tent.
The lounge and dining area offer vibrant safari colours with original oil paintings, soft intimate lighting designed to relax guests returning from an exciting game drive. The camp is unfenced, and occasionally an elephant will visit the camp; at night-time you will be accompanied to and from your tent by a member of staff. Security staff are on hand around the camp throughout the day and night.
Dining is a culinary experience with alfresco breakfast and 3 course lunch down by the river (weather-permitting) and 4 course candle-lit gourmet dinner set either under the African sky or inside the well appointed dining area.
The tents all have an outside deck, with table and chairs, facing the river. 10 of the 12 tents have a small private plunge pool on the deck (below).
