Autumn starts by October and lasts till the end of November. This is the perfect time to visit Bhutan, with warm, clear and sunny days. It can be cool in the evenings, however, due to the altitude. The Jampey Lhakhang Drup in Bumthang, held in October or November each year, is one of the most spectacular festivals in Bhutan. The 2014 Festival will take place from 6 to 10 November.
November to March is the Botswana summer period, with average temperatures ranging from 16-32 degrees Celsius. November, December and March border the rainy season (December to February), and you may encounter brief but occasionally heavy rain. Gameviewing is still good and prices are lower. The best time to visit Burma is from October to March, when there is little or no rain and the temperatures are relatively cooler, although day time temperatures can still reach as high as 35 degrees Celsius in March as the hot season approaches.
A tropical country, Cambodia is warm all year round. The coolest period, and therefore the busiest months for tourism, is from November to February, but temperatures in the plains can stll reach 30 degrees Celsius. The northeastern Rattanakiri region, due to its altitude, is usually a few degrees cooler.
Early November is relatively mild but by the middle of the month it begins to get colder as winter approaches, and it is at this point that the Yangtze Cruise schedules end before the winter break.
November is one of the best times to visit Egypt. It should be hot and sunny throughout the country.

Winter in Iceland is very cold, with heavy snowfalls and limited daylight. Outside Reykjavík most of the hotels and guesthouses are closed. In the capital itself, however, there are less crowds, prices are lower and the local excursions to places like Gullfoss, Geysir and the Blue Lagoon operate on a daily basis. There is also the chance of witnessing the amazing Northern Lights at this time of the year.
North: November is one of the best times to visit India, with hot, sunny days and no rain. The world-famous Pushkar Camel Fair in Rajasthan will be held in November 2013. Himalayas - By November it is getting colder in the hills. Visibility is excellent but there is the possibility of the occasional snowfall.
South: November is hot (up to 35 degrees Celsius), but usually dry and clear. This is one of the best times to visit the south.
The first half of November should still be warm and sunny, and is a pleasant time to visit Iran. Towards the end of the month the onset of winter brings colder days and occasional rain.
Jordan and the Holy Land
If you are looking for a time of year when the historic sites are quiet, then November is ideal. It can be pretty cold, however, particularly in Amman, Jerusalem and Petra (less so at the Dead Sea and Aqaba).
Kenya straddles the Equator and is sunny and hot for most of the year. October and November are the months when Kenya experiences the 'Short Rains'. These rains are sporadic and mainly light and this is still a good time to visit the country.
Lebanon has a Mediterranean climate, with variations because of the mountainous interior. In November it is pleasant and cool on the coast, with occasional rain. In the mountains it is generally colder, with some snow on the higher peaks.
The winter months (November to March) are generally cool, especially in the northern part of the country, and in the mountains, where snow is always a possibility. The south of the country, particularly beyond the Atlas Mountains, enjoy warmer weather. Marrakech is popular even in these winter months for a short break from the UK weather.
Namibia is located in the tropics and is an all-year-round destination which is mostly rain-free. The little rain that does fall comes in the summer (which includes November) but is insignificant. It is generally hot during the day, but noticeably cooler at night.
September, October and November are excellent months to visit Nepal. This is the start of the dry season and days should be sunny and warm with excellent visibility.
Sri Lanka's temperature varies little throughout the year, with maximum day-time temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, with the minimum usually above 20 degrees. It is generally slightly cooler in the hills. The winter rainy season starts in November but seldom are the rains monsoon-style for the whole day.
Winter is on its way, so it can be cold, especially at night. Generally, however, days should be warm, bright and sunny with minimal rain, so this is a good time to visit Syria.
Generally speaking the highlands (where the gameviewing takes place) enjoy a temperate climate, whilst the coast is hot and humid year round. November is a good time to visit Tanzania, although there is frequent (but relatively light) rainfall.
November is one of the best times to visit Thailand. This is the "cool" season, although it's all relative, with temperatures reaching 25 degrees Celsius or above.
We do not recommend travelling to Tibet at this time of the year. Best months are May to September.
The winter in Uzbekistan is severe. We do not recommend you travel at this time.
There is no ideal time to visit Vietnam as there are distinct regional variations between the Northern, Central and Southern regions. November is one of the best times to go as it is one of the driest times of the year, although there can be occasional heavy rain around Hue and Hoi An, and there is the risk of typhoons in the north.
The dry season in Zambia runs from May to November. This is the best time to visit, with mainly clear blue skies and hardly any rain. It's naturally therefore the most popular time to visit (especially August to October) so prices are higher and accommodation should be booked well in advance.
