DAY 1 - Arrive Montréal.

On arrival at Montréal International Airport take the Airport Shuttle to your centrally-located hotel. Recommended flight: British Airways from London Heathrow (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.

PRIVATE LIMOUSINE TRANSFERS: If you prefer we can arrange for you to be met at Montréal Airport by a representative of World Discovery and taken by private chauffeur-driven limousine to your hotel. The one-way cost is £30 per person.

DAYS 2 AND 3 - Montréal.

Montréal is the gateway to the province of Québec, a vibrant modern city located on an island in the St Lawrence River. Despite its modernity, the city also boasts a wealth of historic buildings, especially in the old quarter, with its narrow cobbled streets lined with restaurants and boutiques. For an introduction to the city's history we recommend a visit to the excellent Museum of Archaeology and History [more]. You should not miss the amazing interior of the Basilica of Notre-Dame. The Place Jacques Cartier is a lively open area of cafes and restaurants, filled in summer with flowers, street musicians and vendors. Montréal is famed for its cuisine and in the evening there is a host of restaurants to choose from. If you wish to add in a touch of history, you could try the Auberge Le Saint Gabriel [more], the oldest inn in North America (1754). The city is also worth visiting in the winter months (see picture). Beneath the streets of modern Montréal a vast 'Underground City' of shops and restaurants comes to life; it's a great place to come, for example for some pre-Christmas shopping, with prices much lower than in the UK.
Included during your stay is a 3 hour 'Greater Montréal Guided Tram Tour' with commentary by a knowledgeable licenced bilingual guide. There will photo stops at the Notre Dame Basilica, St. Joseph's Oratory (left), an outside view of the Olympic site and McGill University. The route will take you through the Old Town, the French Quarter, and up to the observation point on top of Mt. Royal, from which the city derives its name.

DAY 4 - Depart for home.

Your time is free until you return to Montréal International Airport for your return flight.
