DAY 1 – Depart UK.
DAY 2 – Arrival in Kathmandu.
On arrival in Kathmandu you will be met by our representative outside immigration and customs. You will then be taken by private car direct to your hotel. Recommended flight from London: Qatar Airways from London Heathrow via Doha (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.
DAY 3 – Kathmandu Sightseeing.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will meet your World Discovery guide and spend the morning visiting the highlights of Nepal’s fascinating capital [more]. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 4 – Patan. Tibetan Handicraft Centre.
This morning you will be taken to Patan, the second city in the Kathmandu Valley, just across the Bagmati River from the capital [more]. Before returning to your hotel, you will pay a visit to the Tibetan Handicraft Centre, founded in 1960 by Tibetan refugees, renowned in particular for its carpets. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 5 - Pasupatinath and Bodhnath.
The Bagmati River is a tributary of the Ganges, and on its banks, a short drive away from Kathmandu, lies the Hindu holy site of Pasupatinath [more]. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 6 - Bhaktapur.
For those with an interest in history and architecture, a must-see in Nepal is the glorious medieval town of Bhaktapur (pictured) [more]. Return to Kathmandu for an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 7 – Kathmandu. Special 6-course Nepali dinner.
A day at leisure. The World Discovery representatives are on hand to organise any further sightseeing you may wish to do. One optional excursion that many people take is the scenic flight to view Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. Other popular trips are the short excursions to various vantage points on the edge of the valley to view sunrise or sunset over the Himalayan range. In the evening you will enjoy a special farewell banquet in Dwarika's Krishnarpan Restaurant (transfers will be provided for guests who are staying at the Radisson Hotel).

DAY 8 – Return to the UK.
Private transfer to the airport for your international flight home.

International Flights
There are no direct flights between London and Kathmandu. We
recommendthe services of Qatar Airways from London Heathrow to Doha
with a goodonward connection to Kathmandu. Flights are daily throughout
the year.Current timings (subject to possible change) are as follows:
Heathrow/Doha. Depart at 15.05; arrive Doha at 23.89
Doha/Kathmandu. Depart at 01.05 (next day); arrive Kathmandu at 08.30
Kathmandu/Doha. Depart at 09.30; arrive Doha at 11.45
Doha/Heathrow. Depart at 12.30; arrive Heathrow at 17.55

- A Nepal Visa. This can be obtained before departure from Embassy of Nepal in London, or alternatively you can purchase the visa (current price US$25) on arrival at Kathmandu Airport (recommended).
A deposit of £150 per person is required at the time of booking. The balance of the price for your travel arrangements must be paid at least 8 weeks before your departure date.
