Our most comprehensive tour of Nepal with some stays off the beaten track.

DAY 1 – Depart UK.

Recommended flight from London: Qatar Airways from London Heathrow via Doha (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.

DAY 2 – Arrival in Kathmandu.

On arrival in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, you will be met by a representative of World Discovery outside immigration and customs. You will then be taken by private car direct to your hotel.  The remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 3 – Kathmandu.

Your World Discovery Nepal tour begins after breakfast, when you meet your private guide and spend the morning visiting the highlights of Kathmandu. The afternoon is at leisure, with the opportunity of taking an optional excursion to Patan.
Meals included: Full breakfast.

EVEREST MOUNTAIN FLIGHT

This experience of a lifetime offers you the chance to view the mighty Himalayan peaks including Everest, the highest mountain on earth.  This is the closest one can get to the peaks without having to trek or climb.  Everest Mountain flight details.

EXTEND YOUR STAY IN KATHMANDU

We have shown only one day in Kathmandu on this sample itinerary but you could stay longer if you wish.  There are many other fascinating places to visit, including the Hindu holy site of Pasupatinath

DAY 4 - Drive to Bandipur.

Leave Kathmandu after breakfast for the morning road journey to Bandipur, a lovely Newari town which is rarely included on tour operators' itineraries.  The afternoon is free for you to explore this friendly and atmospheric location.
Meals included: Full breakfast, dinner.

DAY 5 - By road to Pokhara.

Depart this morning by road to Pokhara. On arrival transfer to your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure.
Meals included: Full breakfast.

DAY 6 - Pokhara.

The Pokhara Valley is one of Nepal's most scenic destinations, and is famed as the gateway to the magnificent Annapurna range of mountains. Dominating the valley is the almost perfectly triangular Machhapuchhare, or Fishtail Mountain (left). This morning take a tour of Pokhara town, including the old quarter with its distinctive Newari houses, and the busy market, followed by a short boat trip on the scenic Phewa Lake.  The afternoon is free to relax at your hotel, or perhaps take a short walk in the nearby foothills. For those who like trekking there is the option of extending your stay in this region for a few more days and walking some of the mountain trails. You can either stay in the comfortable lodges of Ker & Downey featured on our 'A Short Walk in Nepal' itinerary, or we can arrange a guided trekking itinerary based on tented accommodation.
Meals included: Full breakfast.

DAY 7 - Drive to Lumbini, birthplace of Buddha.

After breakfast leave Pokhara and drive down from the mountains into the low-lying region of Nepal close to the Indian border known as the 'Terai'.  Your destination is Lumbini, birthplace of Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Meals included: Full breakfast.

DAY 8 – Lumbini.  Drive to the Royal Chitwan National Park.

In the morning enjoy the highlights of Lumbini, including the Sacred Garden and the Maya Devi Temple (left).  After your tour drive to your safari resort on the edge of the Royal Chitwan National Park. The first jungle activity will be organised for the late afternoon.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.

DAY 9 - Royal Chitwan National Park.

Gameviewing in the Royal Chitwan National Park.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.

DAY 10 - Fly to Kathmandu.  Drive via Bhaktapur to Dhulikhel.

After breakfast transfer to Bharatpur Airport for the flight to Kathmandu. On arrival you will be met and taken by private car to Dhulikhel.  En route you will visit the glorious medieval town of Bhaktapur, now listed as a World Heritage site.  The afternoon is at leisure in Dhulikhel.
Meals included: Full breakfast, dinner.

DAY 11 - Dhulikhel.

A day to relax in the peaceful atmosphere of Dhulikhel, with its views of the distant Himalaya. There is a selection of enjoyable guided walks available to some of the nearby villages.
Meals included: Full breakfast, dinner.

DAY 12 – Homeward flight.

Private transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your international flight home.
Meals included: Full breakfast.
