DAY 1 – Arrival in Delhi.
On arrival in Delhi you will be met by a representative of World Discovery outside immigration and customs. You will then be taken by private car direct to your hotel. Recommended flight from London: British Airways from London Heathrow (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.
DAY 2 – Delhi Sightseeing.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will meet your World Discovery guideand spend the morning visiting the highlights in the southern part ofIndia’s capital city [more]. The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 3 – Delhi Sightseeing (continued).
This morning you will concentrate on the sights of New Delhi [more]. A further afternoon at leisure.

DAY 4 – By rail to Agra. Continue by road via Fatehpur Sikri to Bharatpur.
An early transfer to Delhi Railway Station to board the Shatabdi Express train to Agra, the capital of the Mughal Empire. You will travel in Executive Class for the journey of approximately 2 hours. On arrival your driver and guide will meet you and you will proceed to visit what is generally regarded as the world’s most romantic building – the glorious white-marble Taj Mahal (pictured left) and the impressive Agra Fort [more]. In the afternoon drive to the atmospheric ‘ghost town’ of Fatehpur Sikri [more]. After a guided tour of this wonderful city, continue to Bharatpur and your accommodation at the delightful Laxmi Vilas Palace, built in 1899 for the son of the Maharajah of Bharatpur.

DAY 5 – Bharatpur.
This morning a specialist naturalist guide will collect you from the palace and take you into Bharatpur’s Keoladeo Ghana National Park [more]. The rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 6 – Drive to Jaipur.
In the morning drive to the famous ‘pink city’ of Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan. Founded in 1727 by Maharajah Jai Singh II, Jaipur is the classic Rajput city, with its colourful bazaars, palaces and ‘havelis’ (mansions). The afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 7 – Jaipur sightseeing.
Before beginning your sightseeing you may wish to consider an earlyrise to experience the wonderful sensation of floating above Jaipur ina Hot Air Balloon (click on thelink for details). DAY 8 – Jaipur.

DAY 9 – Drive to Samode via Amber Fort.
Before Jaipur was founded, the capital of this region was Amber, builthigh on a ridge overlooking the surrounding countryside. The hugepalace-fortress is just 11km north of Jaipur, and this morning you willset off to visit it [more]. After the visit, continue on your journey to the village of Samode, overlooked by the imposing palace, where you will enjoy an afternoon at leisure and stay overnight. In the evening there will be a display of traditional dancing.

DAY 10 - Drive back to Delhi.
Morning free. In the afternoon drive back to Delhi. Accommodation this evening is at a modern hotel located close to the International Airport.

DAY 11 – Depart for home.
Private transfer to the airport for your international flight home.

We recommend the services of British Airways from London Heathrow. Flights are non-stop and have a choice of classes. Current timings (subject to possible change) are as follows:
Heathrow/Delhi. Depart at 09:55; arrive Delhi at 23:00

A deposit of £250 per person is required at the time of booking. The balance of the price for your travel arrangements must be paid at least 8 weeks before your departure date.
