On arrival at Keflavik Airport you will pick up your hire car and drive into Iceland's capital city Reykjavík, a journey of around 40 minutes. Day 2 - Gullfoss, Geysir, Þingvellir.
This morning drive to Gullfoss, known as the 'Queen of Iceland´s waterfalls', before visiting the nearby famous hot spring area of Geysir; there has been geothermal activity here for thousands of years and Geysir has given its name to water spouts throughout the world. Also visit the church at Skálholt and the old Parliament site at Þingvellir (Parliament fields) founded in the year 930 A.D.
Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 3 - Hvolsvöllur, Skógar, Vík.
Drive along the south coast to visit Hvolsvöllur Saga Museum, with its models of Viking houses and ships, maps, dioramas and paintings. Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 4 - Reykjanes Peninsula, Blue Lagoon, Krýsuvík.
Explore the Reykjanes peninsula in the extreme southwest of the island, a barren region of wild, rocky coastline and contoured piles of lava with views of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Here you will find the Blue Lagoon, Iceland's foremost thermal bathing spot, famed for its therapeutic mineral-rich waters. You will also visit the geothermal area of Krýsuvík.
Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 5 - Borgarfjörður, Reykholt, Hraunfossar.
Drive to the Borgarfjörður region, with its spectacular mountain and coastal scenery. Visit Reykholt, home of the 13th century poet, Snorri Sturluson and the beautiful turquoise waterfalls of Hraunfossar (Lava Falls, pictured left).

Day 6 - Snæfellsnes.
A full day to explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula, which is dominated by the glacier where, according to Jules Verne’s book, the entrance to the Centre of the Earth can be found. Meals included: Breakfast.
