The 'Ultimate Camping Experience' in Tanzania's top locations
This is the ultimate private camping experience in Tanzania. Each luxurious tent consists of a spacious bedroom, dressing area and separate shower and toliet, with the rear of the tent being 'open air' so as to heighten the experience of living as one with your surroundings. Tents are provided with sufficient power for lighting as well as for charging cameras and mobile phones. A 'mess' tent is designed to provide comfortable dining and recreation when taking a break from the exhilarating game drives.
DAY 1 - Depart UK.
On arrival in Arusha (Kilimanjaro International Airport) you will be met by a representative of World Discovery and taken by private vehicle to your hotel. Recommended flight from London: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from London Heathrow via Amsterdam. If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.
DAY 2 - Tarangire National Park.
Transfer to downtown Arusha where you will have lunch and receive a safari briefing. From here you will travel to Tarangire National Park, located in the Rift Valley about 100 kilometres south of Arusha. In the afternoon you will enjoy your first game drive. Tarangire is noted for its extensive swampland, and also for thousands of ancient baobab trees. The park has some of the highest game concentrations in Africa and is an excellent place to see zebra, elephant and buffalo.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
DAY 3 - Tarangire National Park.
A full day to explore Tarangire National Park and to enjoy the abundant wildlife, birdlife and nature to be found within its borders.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
DAY 4 - Drive via Lake Manyara to the Ngorongoro Crater.
After a leisurely breakfast set off for another game drive through Lake Manyara National Park - known for its prolific birdlife and its unusual tree-climbing lions - before continuing to one of the world's greatest natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater. This intact caldera (or collapsed volcano) forms a natural amphitheatre, some 12 miles in length, and is famed for the staggering concentration of animals that live on the crater floor. In the centre lies Lake Magadi, offering a year-round supply of fresh water that makes this area such a spectacular wildlife oasis.

Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
DAY 5 - Ngorongoro.
Today you will enjoy a full day in the Ngorongoro Crater, travelling by 4x4 vehicle down into the heart of an area that has been described as 'Africa's Garden of Eden'. You will see large herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle; elephant, buffalo, hippo and lion are also plentiful. Ngorongoro is possibly the best place on earth to see the rare black rhino; this is one of the very few areas where they continue to breed in the wild.

Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
DAY 6 - Into the Serengeti.
After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park, perhaps Africa's most famous game reserve. En route stop at Olduvai Gorge, where in 1959 Dr Louis Leakey unearthed the famous skull of 'Nutcracker Man', one and a quarter million years old. The Serengeti covers nearly 15,000 square kilometres and its vast expanse provides an exceptional landscape for wildlife viewing. It is justifiably famous for the sheer number of its animals - especially the big cats - as well as being the on the route of the great migration, a massive accumulation of 1.6 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra (pictured) and 350,000 gazelles, stretching their legs over 2,000 kilometres in an annual race to find water and green grass for their survival.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
OPTIONAL BALLOON RIDE: Please click on the link for details.
Drifting above the Serengeti Plains in a hot air balloon is the ultimate gameviewing experience. Enjoy 40 to 60 minutes in the air followed by a Champagne breakfast.
DAYS 7 AND 8 - Serengeti National Park.
Two days in the Serengeti to enjoy the infinitely beautiful plains of the most famous game park in the world, and to gaze in amazement at the enormous variety and numbers of wildlife to be found there. This is after all home to the largest mass movement of animals on our planet. This is also the land of the semi-nomadic Maasai peoples, whose villages can be found thoughout Tanzania and neighbouring Kenya (pictured left: Maasai dancing). There will be morning and afternoon game drives each day.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch, dinner.
DAY 9 - Depart for home.
After breakfast return by air from Serengeti Airstrip to Arusha in time for lunch. In the evening transfer to the airport for your homeward journey.
Meals included: Full breakfast, lunch.
DAY 10 - Arrive home.
Morning arrival at London Heathrow.
