At the centre of Montréal's vibrant cultural and commercial district sits the city's grandest and most gracious hotel - Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth. Located above the train station (Via Rail & AMTRAK) and connected to the extensive underground city of thousands of boutiques, restaurants and cafés, and within walking distance of sports and cultural attractions, the Queen Elizabeth has 1,039 rooms, of which 100 are suites. In 2008 the hotel celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
The World Discovery prices are based on Fairmont Rooms (pictured left). These comfortable guestrooms are located between the 3rd and 15th floors of the hotel and are decorated with contemporary flair in rich earth tone and are equipped with the latest modern amenities, including two telephone lines and High Speed Internet access. Fairmont guestrooms can accommodate up to four people, depending upon bed type.
No visit to Montréal would be complete without a meal at the landmark Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth. Enjoy the vivacious atmosphere of Le Montréalais Bistrot-Bar-Restaurant with its tantalizing menu featuring sunny Mediterranean cuisine. Le Montréalais is a two-level restaurant, including a bar section, with windows overlooking Mary Queen of the World Cathedral and downtown Montréal. The legendary Beaver Club offers a more formal dining choice and is known as one of the best restaurants in the whole of Canada. For the perfect evening cocktail, unwind at the Les Voyageurs Bar; sit back with one of the bar's famous martinis and enjoy the velvet touch of the pianist.
There is an excellent Health Club and indoor swimming pool (pictured below). The exercise room features free weights, rowing machine, stairclimbers, stationary bikes and treadmills.
