Taj Lake Palace Hotel, Udaipur

Taj Lake Palace Hotel, Udaipur

The Lake Palace rises from the waters of Lake Pichola

The Taj Lake Palace is located in the middle of Lake Pichola and is without doubt one of the world's most romantic hotels.  Built in 1746 by Maharana Jagat Singh II, 62nd successor to the royal dynasty of Mewar, the Lake Palace spreads across a four-acre island – an almost surreal vision in marble.

The hotel has 200 rooms and suites, all different in layout and design.  World Discovery prices are based on 'standard' rooms, though they are anything but standard in terms of appearance!

From casual, all-day dining to formal, fine dining, guests can look forward to a wide array of delectable culinary delights and refreshing beverages.

Amrit Sagar - a stylish bar renowned for its fine selection of vintage wines, spirits, cigars and ‘sheeshas’. The bar has a pleasant indoor-outdoor ambiance that invites guests to relax at any time of the day.
Jarakha - the informal all-day dining restaurant has splendid views of the lake and City Palace.  Enjoy contemporary fare from the extensive menu featuring an array of dishes from around the world.

Neel Kamal (pictured left) - the fine dining restaurant overlooking the Lily Pond is reminiscent of royal banquet halls.  Elegant crockery and crystal complemet the rich upholstery and gilt-embellished arches.  The restaurant serves a selection of local ‘Rajasthani’ dishes and other Indian favourites.
Other Dining Experiences - the Royal Butlers can create magical dining moments wherever you desire – whether it is within the luxury of your suite, a romantic dinner on the Mewar Terrace overlooking the lake, dinner on the marigold-decked royal barge or pontoon in the middle of the lake.
