Yang-Khil Hotel, Trongsa
The Yang-khil Hotel is the best of a limited selection of hotels in the historic town of Trongsa, offering modern design combined with traditional Bhutanese architecture. Lush gardens, a fish pond and stunning views of mountains soaring over 10,000 feet add to the hotel's appeal.
The hotel has just 21 simple but comfortable guest rooms (below left) equipped with a radiator heating system, spacious sitting area, telephone, thick and soft mattress, light and warm blankets, wardrobe and dressing table. The bathrooms are fully equipped with modern amenities such as shaving sockets (convertible from 220 to 110 volts), 24 hour hot running water and a spacious bath tub.
The small dining room (below right), built in traditional style, offers Bhutanese, Chinese, Continental and Indian cuisine. In summer there is an outdoor dining area witha breathtaking view of Trongsa Dzong and its surroundings.
